The Johnny Sack cabin and nearby water-wheel have been one of the most photographed sites in Island Park. The cabin is open to the public from mid-June through mid-September, and visitors are invited to visit and see firsthand the unique craftsmanship dating back to 1929. Don’t forget the bread to feed the fish, ducks, and muskrats. Winter access by snowmobile only. A must see in the Island Park area!
Mesa Falls
The beautiful Upper and Lower Mesa Falls are the last prominent waterfalls on the Snake River unaffected by manmade influences. A scenic walking path leads to excellent viewpoints.
Sawtelle Peak
Sawtell Peak is located in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest roughly 1.3 miles east of Idaho's border with Montana. Elevation: 9,884′
Henry’s Lake
Located just 15 miles west of Yellowstone National Park, this high mountain lake is the kind of place fishermen dream about. Henrys Lake is approximately 8 square miles in area, its surface elevation is 6,472.
Island Park Reservoir & Dam
Island Park Reservoir is a large scenic reservoir on the Henry’s Fork that covers approximately 7,280 acres. It is stocked with Rainbow Trout, and Kokanee.
